1. This coming Sunday (March 24th) the Annunciation Parish will celebrate its Patronal Feast. There will be a bring and share lunch after the Liturgy, to which all are invited.
2. Also on Sunday, which is the first Sunday of Lent, the Sunday of the Triumph of Orthodoxy, we shall have the traditional Pan-Orthodox Vespers, at which members of all the Orthodox parishes in Oxford have a chance to come together to celebrate our common faith. This year’s Vespers will be hosted by the Romanian Orthodox Parish of St John Cassian at the church of St Thomas the Martyr (near the railway station). The service will begin at 18:30, and all are, of course, welcome.
3. On Monday, March 25th, we will celebrate the Feast of the Annunciation and the Greek National Day. There will be a Liturgy at 1, Canterbury Road, followed by the Doxology for Greek Independence Day and a bring and share supper reception in St Gregory’s House afterwards. Again everyone is welcome.
If you are going to make a contribution to either of the bring and share events do let Maria Frantzeskaki, who is coordinating, know, if possible.
May these celebrations bring joy to all of us,
Fr Ian
